The Person Behind Spare Human

I've been an animal person my entire life. Over 40 years, I've owned and cared for everything from high-energy working breeds to cats who think 3am is the perfect time to sing. Pets have always been part of my world — not a hobby, but a constant.

For years, I was the friend everyone called when they needed someone to watch their dog — or their cat, or their bird, or whatever companion animal needed looking after. I'd walk them, sit with them, make sure they were fed and happy. I didn't think of it as a business — it was just what I did. Somewhere along the way, people started noticing how well-behaved my own dogs were. The compliments kept coming, and eventually someone said, "You should do this professionally." So I did.

Before Spare Human Services, I donated my art to local animal shelters and volunteered wherever I could help. I've always wanted to be more involved in the animal world, but I'll be honest — I can't do the vet side of things. Seeing an animal in pain is something I've never been able to handle. But caring for them, walking them, keeping them safe and happy while their people are away? That I can do all day long.

That's why Spare Human Services exists. I'm not a corporation. I'm one person who's spent his life around animals, who takes your pet's routine and well-being personally, and who treats every animal like they're my own — because honestly, that's the only way I know how to do it.
